Step 02
Housing
Renting, viewings, the lease — and the address you’ll need later to register.
How it works
The usual arrangement in the large cities is a month’s deposit and three months’ rent up front. Work out the full move-in sum in advance.
The contract is always in Chinese. The key clauses are the term, how it can be ended, repairs and the return of the deposit.
The address on your lease is needed to register where you live, so housing is best settled before paperwork.
